Disciple of the Cards

My personal thoughts on anything Magic: The Gathering related, mostly from the perspective of casual play. I enjoy many different types of Magic, but particularly multiplayer, suhc as 60/4 Free-for-All, Commander, Chaos Magic and Planechase, Archenemy, Horde Magic, and Emperor, but I also like one-on-one, particularly if it's after a Sealed or Cube draft. I most frequently play 3-6 player Commander, Chaos Magic, and Duels of the Planeswalkers. The closest to tournament play I ever get is a Release or Prerelease event.

I also like to design my own cards using the Magic Set Editor. I take my designs very seriously, as I find the fun of designing is to try and make the card feel as much like a card that could see print as possible (as opposed to just throwing every ability I like into a card). I'm very interested in feedback on these designs, so long as that feedback is constructive.

  • Matching Magic Decks to “Tribute to the Gamer” Artwork

    mtgfan:

In this picture, Tribute to the Gamer, what decks would each of the players really use?

I’ve never seen this before, cool!

Master Chief would probably run soldiers with a heavy equipment package to represent the Spartan’s armor. Loxodon Warhammer to take the place of a stolen Brute hammer.

The grunt would run goblins, specifically Goblin Grenade, since the goblins sacrifice themselves. Really surprised a grunt and Master Chief are in here; a different character in the art from a different franchise would have made sense. Still a good picture, though. If it were for me, I’d switch Yoda with the grunt, and you can still have him standing on books.

I don’t know enough about the other characters. I’d say ninjas for Ezio, but there’s also enough good assassins for an assassin deck. Obvious? Maybe, but it fits. So ninjas and assassins maybe?

I have no clue about the last guy.

I say the grunt plays white weenies. I’m not sure about the others though.
    6. zeico said: the Grunt totally has a goblin deck. White soldiers for Master Chief. Ezio… probably something bordering aggro and control. Marston has RDW.
    7. phalanxrobot said: Ezio: W/B life drain with 4x Royal Assassin Chief: U/W soldiers and ping mages Grunt: Red goblins
    8. lorddaiggsta said: Master Chief white soldiers, Marston probably something red, Ezio would have to be an assassin deck, and the grunt would be almost certainly weenie or token
